My sad struggle with Sprint and Blackberry

The other day I got a sad letter from Sprint.  After almost 8 years of service with Sprint, they have decided that they can no longer support my usage while living in Wyoming.  I moved to Wyoming about 3 years ago, and until 1 year ago, I had great cell coverage – then one day POOF! I’m roaming.

I don’t blame Sprint for not wanting to continue to pay for my constant roaming – I’m just sad I have to switch.  The cost and quality of service I have with Sprint far exceeds what most people get with their cell phone providers.  Since I live in rural Wyoming (total oxymoron ), Verizon is my only option (Yeah, yeah – we have AT&T – but they are horrible).

√ – New cell phone provider – Verizon

___ – New Cell Phone – Totally undecided

This is where the decision making gets really difficult.  I’ve had a Blackberry for ages.  I love the quality, durability and keys that Blackberry provides.  But – my current Blackberry has become sluggish (2 years of solid use will do that), and everyone says I should get and iPhone or Android phone because of all the features they have.  Sadly – Blackberry apps aren’t that great, and since the phone I have is a little slow, it makes it difficult to use most of the apps.  I don’t like Apple, so the iPhone is out.  So now I’m down to deciding between a Blackberry or an Android phone.  Do I break up with the phone company that has been with me through thick and thin?  Do I leave Blackberry for an Android phone?  What is this girl to do???

The new Blackberry 10 phones don’t come out till 2013, and I need a new phone now.

Then the question…. Do you want to stick with a phone that actually has buttons?  Or do you go strictly to the touch screen?  Being a Blackberry lover, I obviously love the keys.

One would think that these decisions wouldn’t be so difficult, but committing to an electronic device I’ll practically have attached to me is fairly important.  Until I’m ready to make that decision – I’m sticking with my Roaming, Sprint Blackberry.
